CSM Bangladesh represents IRRI to INGO’s celebration of International Women’s Day

Loretta "Lettie" Hempsall, Corporate Services Manager of the IRRI Bangladesh Office (IBO) attended the IWD celebration of Helen Keller International (HKI) and World Fish-Bangladesh (WF) last March 9, 2014. The event was organized by the Gender Specialists in WF with the theme 'Inspiring Change: Institutionalizing Gender in Nutrition and Agriculture Intervention'.

The event brought together representatives from various INGOs, donor organizations and government agencies, which included discussions of various topics such as Approach to Gender in Bangladesh, Equality for Women is Progress for All, and Gender Transformative Approaches in Nutrition and Aquatic Agricultural Interventions.

To make way for the schedule of the US Ambassador to Bangladesh, IBO’s annual IWD celebration will be moved from March to April. The US ambassador is expected to be IBO's guest of honor. The celebration will help raise public awareness about the need to protect basic human rights, particularly women’s rights in Bangladesh.  Workplace Communications Article No. 2014-028
