Human Resources Services (HRS) is pleased to announce the winners of the Manager’s Discretionary Awards (MDA) in IRRI India Office for the month of May 2015. They are Nandita Jain, HRS Business Partner and Savita Sharma, Assistant Manager.

Nandita and Savita received a Manager’s Discretionary Award for demonstrating an exceptional support to Nepalese and Indian employees during the devastating earthquake that struck Nepal on 25 April 2015. They both displayed perseverance, professionalism, and outstanding commitment at a time of high workplace stress vis-à-vis the deadly calamity. They have worked extra hours after the earthquake, establishing communications to enable much-needed support for search and rescue services to team members and their families in Kathmandu and Delhi.

Nandita and Savita were selected after a nomination process which began at Organizational Unit (OU) level and which included a review and assessment by the relevant Deputy Director General. The award recipients will be honored on the upcoming 2015 Annual Service Awards and Recognition Program in December.

HRS through Workplace Relations & Advisory Services (HRS-WRAS) continues to receive MDA nominations. Please read the MDA Guidelines for details. For inquiries, please contact HRS-WRAS at HQ ext. 2363 or send email to irrihrs-wras@irri.org. HRS Workplace Communications Article No. 2015-032
