The 3K Team was presented with the 2014 Year-end Semi-Annual Team Awards (SATA) in recognition of their historic accomplishment for IRRI and its partners, with results that can be widely shared and used to create real-world impact. The team was comprised of the largest number of members from different disciplines, and their progress scaled from blue-sky thinking to a concrete, practical outcome. Lead by Nigel Ruaraidh Sackville Hamilton (TTC-GRC), the team is composed of Nickolai Alexandrov (TTC-GRC), Rogelio Alvarez, Jr. (ITS), Vina Alvarez (PBGB), Frances Nikki Borja (TTC-GRC), Dmitri Chebotarev (TTC-GRC), Jeffrey Detras (TTC-GRC), Denis Diaz (ITS), Roven Rommel Fuentes (TTC-GRC), Venice Margarette Juanillas (TTC-GRC), Gerardo Tomasito LaviƱa (Communication), Hei Leung (PBGB), Locedie Mansueto (TTC-GRC), Ramil Mauleon (TTC-GRC), Kenneth McNally (TTC-GRC), Kevin Christian Palis (TTC-GRC), Millicent Sanciangco (TTC-GRC), Rolando Santos, Jr. (TTC-GRC), Anthony Telosa (TTC-GRC) and Victor Jun Ulat (TTC-GRC). External collaborator of the 3K Team includes Sergey Nurk of Saint Petersburg Academic University in Russia.

The team will receive a certificate of recognition and a cash award amounting to USD 3,250 to be shared by all members. They will also be part of the Annual Service Awards and Recognition Program in December.

The SATA Program recognizes outstanding team contributions, performances, and achievements. Held twice a year, the review of nominations and announcement of the winner are held in July (mid-year) and January of the following year (year-end). Since its first launch in June 2013, Human Resource Services (HRS) received a total of 17 nominations from various organizational units of which 76.4% (n=13) were submitted in year 2014 and 23.5% (n=4) in year 2013. This is the fourth time that the Institute has recognized a group under the SATA Program.

Is your team the next SATA Program winner? Nominations for the upcoming 2015 SATA Program (Mid-year) are just several months away! Check back soon for more updates.
